Our upcoming season is in jeopardy! Financial support from government sources has been significantly reduced and we are scrambling to replace those funds in order to continue to provide you with quality opera at an affordable price! Ticket sales cover 40% of our costs and government grants provide 8%; the remainder, 52%, must come from generous patrons and musicians like you.
Your contribution is tax-deductible because MCO is an IRS recognized charity, so your net out-of-pocket cost is much lower than the amount of your donation. Every dollar donated goes to the actual costs of production. This includes fees for professional singers, orchestra, sets, costumes, conductors and directors.
MCO has performed your favorite operas: La Bohème, Madama Butterfly, Carmen, Magic Flute, and many others. We need your help to continue for this season’s Gala Halloween Masked Ball, Amahl & the Night Visitors, Truce of Carols (an original opera by local musician, Michael Taylor, and Mozart’s Don Giovanni.
Please become a Member of Mission City Opera today. Basic membership is only $25, which entitles you to all newsletters and advance performance notices for our season so you won’t miss a thing, as well as many free events during the year. For example, did you know that Mission City Opera gives free summer concerts in the park? Members will also receive recognition in all printed programs if desired.
Even better, consider becoming a Friend by contributing $26 – $249. Friends receive the member benefits and ticket exchange privileges. Since tickets are not exchanged or replaced from the box office, this is a great value.
If you contribute $250 – $999, you are a Supporting Member receiving all of the above benefits and entitled to a backstage tour prior to one of our productions.
With a contribution of $1000 - $4999, you are a Patron of the Arts and will receive all of the above, plus an exclusive invitation to attend a working rehearsal and a private reception to meet cast members.
A contributor $5000 -$10,000 becomes a Benefactor of the Opera receiving all of the above plus a musical soiree with two of your favorite MCO singers to entertain you and your guests at your chosen location.
