Mission City Opera
Announces 2008-09 Season Auditions
Mission City Opera invites singers to audition for its upcoming season! All roles are open and a stipend will be provided. Auditions are by appointment only and can be arranged by email.
The season includes a delightful Pops Concert & Ice Cream Social in August, the beloved Amahl and the Night Visitors by Gian Carlo Menotti in December and in February, Mozart's perennial favorite, The Marriage of Figaro.
All main stage performances take place at the beautiful Mission City Center for Performing Arts in Santa Clara, California. Tickets are priced from $12 to $45 and will be available shortly through the box office. The outdoor venue for the Pops Concert and its pricing will be determined soon.
Maestro Michael Taylor conducts the wonderful Mission City Opera Orchestra again this season and will be hearing the auditions with Founder and General Director, Sharon Kaye. An accompanist will be provided for a small fee of $10, to cover the cost of auditions. Please be prepared to sing two contrasting arias that highlight your special talents. Auditions will be held on: April 19th from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, April 20th from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm, and April 21st from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
